I have a tendency to get caught up in the tiniest of details. I get consumed on something that I know is not worthwhile, but I just cannot let it go. For instance, I am on a kick to host all of my stuff here. That means no more flickr. So, I was going to make an image gallery in my drupal install. In researching options, I came across a warning in my install that something on my server was not installed. This item wasn't required to move forward, but when I look at my dashboard and see warnings, it bugs me. It is a challenge and I want to overcome it. I have spent the last couple of hours trying to fix this warning.
I could have moved on and have already had my gallery up and running. Instead, I was running all over the internet, trying to solve a problem that wasn't even a problem. This goes against my theme for this year, which is discipline. I need to have the discipline to stay focused and on task. Not get sidetracked and have the awareness to know when something is not important.
I really do need to get in the habit of writing long form posts. My site thus far has been a link farm of crap I find interesting. No one can call a link to something cool wrong, they cannot disagree with you, there is no judging involved. At most they can find it not cool and then they are stupid. This long form stuff is going to take some work.
